Bookums.

I just finished reading The Orphan's Tales: In the Night Garden by Catherynne M. Valente. It was utterly lovely and I may be awful at descriptions but Valente certainly isn't. It was completely different to anything I've ever read before though, and it was stories within stories within stories and filled with amazing myths and characters and general GUHness.

And I've just seen that they have the second volume of it (Cities of Coin and Spice) at the library so I am so going in to get that tomorrow.

I'm now trying to read The Scar by China MiƩville and as much as I'd really love to get into it as the book was highly recommended to me, I just can't. This makes me sad.

Also making me really sad is that I lost my old reading list in my computer crash, so I've started building up a new one, but it's really pathetic so far. Especially since I can't remember most of the things written on the old one. Books are lost to the ether!

Oooh I have heard of Catherynne M. Valente and do want to read her books. So you would recommend her?

It is weird how one person can love a book and others will not even be able to get into it.

How very annoying to have lost your booklist. Make sure you email yourself copies of your new one so you can't lose it again.
