I can hardly ever get into really popular/covered in awards books. It might just be me being stubborn and contrary though.
Robin McKinley once said she was kinda upset that Hero and the Crown won a Newberry because no one was going to want to read it afterward, something along those lines. But then I think she is stubborn and contrary in her book choices too.
