Her poems are so sharp and clever, her prose can be so touching and beautiful, but she was such a terribly sad woman. She was married three times, with the final one committing suicide. She was an alcoholic who hated her own work, thought she was without talent, and tried to kill herself three times.
If, with the literate, I am
Impelled to try an epigram,
I never seek to take the credit;
We all assume that Oscar said it.
This post doesn't really have a point. It just is.
