The flat is currently caring for a toddler overnight and I have discovered that of all the talking I do at him (definatly 'at' because he's too little to converse) his favourite word above all others is 'necromancy.' Necromancy makes him giggle and clap his hands.

I have high hopes for this child.

But because there is a limit to how many times I can fall on the floor when he pretends to kill me (CHILDREN ARE EXHAUSTING) I am hiding in my room with tea and gorgeous female singers. Sadly, those are only in picture form.

With the gorgeous of Emilie Autumn, Amanda Palmer, Christina Scabbia and Simone Simons )
So, the plan for tonight was to turn the four metres of red fabric I bought into a dress instead. So Jen and I watched Mean Girls (OH YES WE DID) while I laid it all out on the floor and sort of made a pattern out of newspaper. By twenty minutes later I decided that I had no a clue what I was doing and maybe cutting the cloth up and just sort of pasting it to my body wasn't the best idea. I'll see if I can instead get a hold of Sam verysoon and she can tell me what to do, because whatever I was thinking wasn't working.

I lack the skills.

So I decided that I would work on the button holes on my other dress... but I have no blue thread to match it.

So tonight I got exactly nothing done on my medieval clothes, except for getting Jen into them and finding she looked quite hot in them. (But, let's face it, girl looks pretty damn good in most things, the sexy-waisted excellent-breasted cow. Although, a cow would mean udders not breasts and now there's all this imagery going on in my head and it needs to stop immediately.)

For the first time in a year I have dyed my hair. A YEAR. That's pretty much the longest I gone without dying it since I was about sixteen, which is madness. No photos, because it's not that dramatic. Just a rather pretty and very non-medieval berry sort of red. It has a nice sun glow to it but not the radioactive I used to have.
Tonight there was an informal sewing group in the living room as we all try and finish garb before Canterbury Faire. (Oh man, so close. How much can I not wait for nine days of medievalness? The answer is A LOT.) I am not even half way around hemming the skirt on my GIANT freaking gown. It's going to take forever but it will be worth it. Everyone loves a huge skirt.

After sewing we didn't do much. Oh, except that we watched Repo!! OH MY GOD, FOR THE FRACKING WIN! :D It made me happy in my pants and in my soul. (The bits with Anthony Stewart Head singing and being evil made me especially happy in the pants region.)

How tempted am I to watch it again later tonight? SO VERY MUCH Not at all. Nope. None.

Musical and Medieval both start with an M. M is clearly awesome.
The sweet sweet smell of free library wireless. Oh yeah, baby.

You know what's awesomely funny? When your flatmate flashes her tits to everyone in the living room because she forgets that she's already removed her bra earlier. Classic times, people. Classic breast filled times. (And those, as we know, are the best kind of times that there are.)

And now I wait for Ali to get off work - I can't see her at the moment - so we can go to the Victorian photography thingy that is on in town. I like Victorian. And photography. So this evening of entertainment is most obvious.

Although I'm starting to think that perhaps I shouldn't have left the house today without breakfast/lunch.
LFoD drinkies tonight means I have to clean my room. As one can understand this is a horrible thing for me to face and I have to remove to poets so I can vacuum. (Rats? Strangely not fond of the very loud sucking machine. Who would have thought it?) Uuuuugh, task too daunting. Abort. Abort.

Slave auction and party last night was pretty damn awesome even if I was - shock horror - sober. (See, mum? Totally not a drunk ;P) Had heaps of fun actually and did my regular trick of stealing leather jackets from the nearest male. It remains one of my very favourite games.

I want to end this on something really witty, but alas I have nothing.

EDIT: Hats make me look like a twat.

Rock on, my bitches.

Oh fingers, why you so cold?

There is a rat balanced rather precariously upon my head. He's going to fall and he knows it, which is why he keeps burying his claws in my scalp. Ow, Byron! He needs to learn to remain in more comfortable places. Not very bright is he.

Everyone is out now and the house is stupidly quite, which means I require music. And now that that's fixed in a minute I'm about to call someone to ask about an Othello audition. Because, mmmm, Othello. I haven't done any proper acting since high school so it's very possible I suck at it by now but, hey, it's just an audition. No harm in that. I wish I still had the singing voice I used to in my earlyish teens because then I could do muuusicals. I loves me some musicals.

Alison and I got out the first season of Queer As Folk last week and it was awesome, especially in the deja vu kind of way. Man, I used to love that show so much. I am discovering I am still quite fond. Jen got sucked into it as well toward the end of the season and now both she and Ali and flailing over Season Finale Dramah. It's funny ;D And then we watched the first episode of Dexter (with bubbly!) when it was on the telly the other night. Good, although I'm not yet sure what I make of it. I shall withhold judgement until I've seen a few more.

Sena brought around the latest episode of SPN and I now can't get the silly fake theme song out of my head:

Ghost, Ghost Facers! We go the places where the others will not!
Ghost, Ghost Facers! We stay in the kitchen when the kitchen gets hot!

Heh heh heh.

And, oh! The Sarah Conner Chronicles are going to start soon! Fuck yeah! I'm really hoping it's going to be good. Please wipe all memory of that terrible third film from my mind.
I'm so the guy in this flat. Even when we have an actual sort of guy here, I'm still the one make comments about breasts.

Tim came over to watch the Victoria's Secret show the other night. He claims he was just following Sam, but we know the truth. This is, after all, the boy who used to just happen to show up at the right time on Friday nights to watch America's Next Top Model with us, so we really can't believe anything he claims about his television habits.

Anyway, none of the VS models were rated higher than a four out of ten, except for Miranda Kerr who apparently got a six. Must be her cuteness. Apparently if Heidi Klum shows up at his house he'll send her to the nursing home.

Jessica White is made of hot but needs to eat something. Really.

My votes for next year's VS show: Caroline YOU FOOLS. Judith (nudity), Bianca, Cintia, Pania (but only if she puts on a bit of weight), Tamiris, Emanuela, and Crystal (but that's never going to happen.)

And notes to VS:

1. I don't care if Ana broke contract to model a catalogue for someone who paid her better: Get her back. Seriously.

2. Rosie can look this. So why do you keep giving her awful outfits in the show?
Oh, hello bedroom. You are fantastically wonderful and not full of leaves and lack any sort of deflating bed.

I returned this afternoon from Canterbury Faire, the ever-fantastic week long medieval event. And while I was happy to leave behind sleeping in a very small tent with Raen, I shall miss the rest of it.

I ate so many pies. Mmmm, pie. And Turkish coffee. I wish I had one now because I'm quite asleep even after falling into my bed as soon as our return to the LFoD.

And while it is not medieval, human croquet is serious amounts of fun when played :)
Why is that the more sex is in a European movie, the more likely it is to end in PAINFUL TRAGEDY. European sex romps are so unrompy when Alison and I get them out.

So we've been sitting on the couch for the last four hours watching movies and spent half of it laughing, crying 'hee! penis!', or crying.

Y Tu Mama Tambien? So good. I've been meaning to see it for years and years but never got around to it. So. Fantastically. Fabulous. All filled with pain for something that had two sex scenes by the time it was three minutes in. Seventeen year old boys are hilarious. And Spanish is sexy.

And now we've just finished the French Ma Mere which was specifically rented because it has Louis Garrel in it, who is one of Raen's main crushes. He's quite a nummy treat. What can I say about it... what can I say... Hmmm, how about OH. MY. GOD. In fact, it was so painful that I've been saying "Oh. My. God." since it finished. Raen has been wandering around in traumatised silence. Because....OH MY GOD. If you're looking for a nice easy sex romp involving mother and son? Yeah, find another one. I mean, it was really good in a very painful way, but... I feel bad for every single person in that movie! :(

Next weekend we're doing the first three Batmans! :D
Circe says:
i didn't clean my room la la la
Alison says:
i knew you wouldn't. I knew today would be a "everything from the floor goes onto the bed till you want to sleep and then it'll go on the floor again" kind of day
Circe says:
waaa.
Circe says:
it's an inefficient system
Alison says:
it is
Alison says:
you should try my system
Alison says:
i don't move anything ever. it works well.
Alison says:
cept i don't know where my proper pajama pants are.

In other news: The line up for the Victoria's Secret show sucks big time. It's like they decided that last year they had too many attractive women walking and had to do something about it. So they took them out the back paddock and shot them. Now it's just boring unattractive models. Yes, I do care. Don't mess with gorgeous half naked women. It's a workable system right there. (I'm being over-dramatic. There are still a few gorgeous girls, but heaps of my favourites are missing.)

I get to go to my dad's for his birthday party at the end of this month, and I say yay! And I might be going home for a week at Christmas, which is another yay! I like visiting parentals. It's made of good.

Mmmmmm

Trailers here! Trailers here! Sweeney Todd is here and it looks HOT.

It's a uber-gothic muscial set in Victorian London with Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, and directed by Tim Burton.

I am excited about everything in that sentence!

Mmmm, Johnny is singing. I like when Johnny sings... or walks... or, you know, breathes. It's all very exciting.

Less exciting was the first episode of season three of Supernatural that we saw tonight. I was disappointed by it. Which sucks since I've been really hyped to see it. But... I don't know. It didn't impress me very much. It wasn't terrible, and there were a few parts I really liked, but on the whole I feel rather apathetic over it. Hopefully I change my mind after next week.

And Peter's birthday drinkies here the other night ended up going until almost six am. Talk about dedicated drinkers. Although, Peter did leave waaay before that. Piking on his own birthday. This is what happens when he holds it at our house. And today we were way too lazy and have therefore done no cleaning. Tomorrow.
