I was commanded to make a post to LJ so check it out, it's a post! Of course, finding something actually interesting to say in it is a whole other matter.

I am sitting in the living room, with Lara, on the Stolen Computer* and I can hear the clicky-clicky of her fingers on the keys which isn't nearly so noisy as my own speedy-but-two-fingered typing. (YES, I'm a two-fingered pecker even after, what, more than a decade using computers, much of that being writing. I am ashamed! ... actually, that's a lie. I'm not really ashamed at all.)

I have the urge to bake but I don't know what things we having lying around the pantry and I'm quite frankly sick of cupcakes... at least for now. I want to make something hilarious and awesomely goth. Oh! I could make that graveyard cake I wanted for my birthday the other year, but I wouldn't want to eat it - just admire the cute. And if I'd thought about it on the 5th I could have tried making these. So cute!

Actually, what I really want to make right now is this mint-choc brownie. Oh lord. Allow me to nom you gently.

I'm starting to think I might need a baking tag.

(*Henceforth known as: My Computer, Mine! Mine! Mine! Bwahaha! Why Are You Glaring At Me Like That, Lara?)
This weekend I'm going to get to see Neil Gaiman. It's only started really kicking in in the last day or so and now I'm sort of like !!! about it. NEIL. MEETING NEIL. I think I might faint, you guys. He's so !!!

I'll also be seeing Amanda Palmer on the same weekend and then again the next weekend. I feel so shiny and awesome. And tonight we're finishing Battlestar and that is pretty damn shiny as well.

Life is sweet. I'm kind of thrilled to be a part of it right at this moment.
This is the last week that [livejournal.com profile] potatoeangel & [livejournal.com profile] treacleangel will be living at the LFoD :O It's... madness. And then until Lara comes (EASY, arrives) it'll just be me and Raen all on our ownsomes. Bwaha. AND I get to go back home for Christmastimes! Glee! (Glee for getting to see mum, not for getting to spend time in Tasmania. Lord no.)

Today I made deep pink orange-flavoured cupcakes. They make me feel like a topless puppy and I WILL NOM.

I have had more cups of tea today than is sane. If I explode, don't write that on my tombstone.

He's a really short post to cover a lot of stuff: Australia was freaking amazing and I already miss being in Nimbin and seeing my parents, all three of whom rule with an iron fist of pure awesome and love.

Lara was here for the last four days and it was FANTASTIC and Alison and I very nearly didn't let her go home to her darling Lewi at all. SHE'S OURS, HOR! OURS!

The first night of the 48 Hour Party (the only night I attended) was good fun and I ate all of the vodka jellies.

Tuesday there is a teaparty and I will be the Cupcake Queen.
The sweet sweet smell of free library wireless. Oh yeah, baby.

You know what's awesomely funny? When your flatmate flashes her tits to everyone in the living room because she forgets that she's already removed her bra earlier. Classic times, people. Classic breast filled times. (And those, as we know, are the best kind of times that there are.)

And now I wait for Ali to get off work - I can't see her at the moment - so we can go to the Victorian photography thingy that is on in town. I like Victorian. And photography. So this evening of entertainment is most obvious.

Although I'm starting to think that perhaps I shouldn't have left the house today without breakfast/lunch.
LFoD drinkies tonight means I have to clean my room. As one can understand this is a horrible thing for me to face and I have to remove to poets so I can vacuum. (Rats? Strangely not fond of the very loud sucking machine. Who would have thought it?) Uuuuugh, task too daunting. Abort. Abort.

Slave auction and party last night was pretty damn awesome even if I was - shock horror - sober. (See, mum? Totally not a drunk ;P) Had heaps of fun actually and did my regular trick of stealing leather jackets from the nearest male. It remains one of my very favourite games.

I want to end this on something really witty, but alas I have nothing.

EDIT: Hats make me look like a twat.

Rock on, my bitches.

Oh man, I wish I was making cupcakes right now. Raen's icon makes me crave them like mad but since we're shopping this afternoon the pantry will be rather empty of cupcake making supplies at the moment. But there will be cupcakes for the drinkies this Friday. Because we are a ladies flat and we do ladies things, like brightly decorated cupcakes. And metric shit tons of tequila. I'll throw some of those little silver balls into it all.

First medieval feast was good although by the end I felt like I was going to explode from the amount of food I'd eaten. Especially the pottage cheese and bread. We stole more from the table next to us. And then after the feast we came back to the LFoD and watched the last two Batman movies. Batman Forever was a lot better when I was twelve. I remember them being a very good movie. How very very wrong I was. And we all already expected the horror of Batman and Robin, for no one has the power to block the ice-related puns from memory. We marked them all down on the sliding door in the living room so we will never forget. Someone who wasn't me also drew a stick man doing obscene things to Catwoman. Can't trust any one these days.

Alison keeps making fun of Baudelaire for being the Goodyear Rat. Poor thing! He's going to get a rodent self esteem issue, the little fatty.
On Saturday night everything seemed to be working against us, so we never got to the In Goth We Trust thing that was happening in town. A pity, since I was really looking forward to it. But, eh, what can you do, right?

We went in on Sunday and watched Hera playing in the art centre. She's completely adorable and has some incredible pipes on her. (And Alison uses her as the face for evil batshite insane angel in Darker London who I can never quite be as scared of now...)

Last night in my dream there was a very loud party here and I got completely wasted, and this morning when I woke up I felt like I was deathly hungover until I realised I couldn't possibly be. Imaginary hangover? That sucks!

Pony-obsessed Muz has been demanding photos of my rats for ages, and so who am I to deny a gorgeous friend's sexy boyfriend? (Look at me rack up those brownie points, babies!)

The poets... )

I am so twitching to get hold of Queen Adreena's The Butcher and the Butterfly and Ride a Cock Horse. *twitch*

ETA: Oh my god! Deadpool is going to be in the Wolverine movie? Deadpool is fuckin' awesome! As if I wasn't already excited enough that Taylor Kitsh was going to be in it, now I get a Deadpool. Squee! I want this movie to not suck SO MUCH. Please be good, powers that be, please be good! (And while you're at it, since Hugh and Taylor are down in Queenstown, encourage them to come visit Christchurch?)
Last night was the KAOS First Party. Meeting went great and was quite amusing, so props to all involved in that. The party itself was great as well. I'm not all that eloquent at the best of times and this morning I'm sort of hung over so that's all you're getting from me on that.

Some of the first years need a firm smack about the head though. There were two separate groping boys, one of whom had to actually be forcibly shoved away from me and told to fuck off before he got the point. Was also approached by another who said I looked like a dodgy kind of slut. Thanks but no thanks, mate. Fuck off and die, preferably painfully, and keep your hands off me.

But, yes, other than boys being boys there was much fun to be had. The LFoD took Jen's friend Alina along and she seemed to enjoy herself. She was looking for some geeky friends so who better to introduce her to than KAOS?

The plan for tonight is (more than likely) this and then dragging ourselves out of bed early enough tomorrow morning to go see Hera at the arts centre since Alison has become obsessed. We might even have nachos. Mmmmm, nachos.

The plan for right now though? zomgtea.

Tea time!

Feb. 13th, 2008 01:10 am
This morning the ladies of the LFoD received a strange and wondrous package from across the seas. Within said packages was to be found numerous lovely gifts and among these were teabags of the exotically delicious kind.

Oh, what a dilemma. What are five young maidens to do with such a gift? Why, they of course must have their own Victiorian-esque tea party. And as everyone knows a proper tea party requires cupcakes. The afternoon was spend with the lovely maidens making cupcakes and preparations for tea time.

So, with a soundtrack of tea loving punktorian Emilie Autumn, the day got off to a start.

Low tide and high tea )
Hey baby! I'm back in the USSR! And by that I, of course, mean New Zealand. And I thought I had some really fascinating things to say here but now that I'm typing I'm proving myself wrong on that front.

Tasmania was good, if a little weird. Everything was all very the same except for me. And, as predicted, I did in fact have the brightest hair in all of Devonport. (But, of god, Devonport has not escaped the scene kids. They're there as well. Not so much with the emos, but the horrible eighties hair with the lawnmower cuts and the random sections of bleach? Oooh yeah. All over the show.)

Got to see both Arsène Lupin and Golden Compass which is basically so much Eva Green that I was in the land of gorgeous happy. It's a good land.

I'm so glad I don't have to fly anywhere for a long time. I'm rather sick of planes right now, and not entirely fond of car trips either as we drove from one end of Tasmania and then back again. At least I got a few hours with a Nikki and a Lewi at Melbourne on the way over. That was beyond awesome to see them :)

I'm losing days. I thought it was NYE tonight but it's not, is it? Alison is confusing me by telling me there was a party! (Unless there is and it just isn't NYE? I'm so out of the loop!) Or is it, in fact, New Year's Eve? Hello? Where am I? Who am I? Will someone please return me to the Asylum for Wayward Girls before I become a danger to all?
I think my spam filter has been eating emails that aren't actually spam >_< I only just discovered this today, because as if I'm dedicated enough to sort through the millions of spams I get every day. But hopefully I've fixed it now and it won't eat things anymore. So if you've emailed me and I never replied: Hi! I'm not being rude! I probably just didn't know! (It's gmail being rude.)

The sun is glaring in my window and making it rather difficult to see the screen. But I will soldier on through the hard times, baby. Because in nine days I'll be in Nimbin, so how can anything possibly be bad about that? Nimbin, baby! And mum's currently booking me tickets for Christmas in Tassie. I am a jet setting superstar and you better believe it, cupcake.

Mmmm, I wish I had a cupcake.

I am currently downloading Into the Woods, because my DVD of said musical is beyond dead. (Yes, Sequoia. A MUSICAL. Try not to vomit directly on your screen.) Downloading is taking forever. Grargh. But then Raen and I are going to sit round, eat crap, and sing along to fairy tales. I am SO HARDCORE you can barely comprehend it.

Aaaaand an email from mum just now informs me that Tasmania is 18th - 29th of December. Holy shit it's going to be weird to be back there.

(PS to Raen: Hilary Rhoda + Crystal Renn = Totally sisters. y/n?)
