So on Tuesday night I am going to see Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley. (Jason! Jason who I haven't seen since he opened for the Dresden Dolls is 2006! Glorious man!)

We're also having dinner with Amanda (and hopefully Jason?) since we're cooking for them. Can you see how calm I am about the fact that I'll be chilling backstage with them? Way calm.

So calm.

I wish Hera was opening for her this time as well as Jason. It would be a happy splode.

I plan to make three dozen cupcakes to share with the fans. Some of them will look like tomatoes. You're just jealous you won't get to have any.
NEIL GAIMAN IS THE BEST THING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. How's that for cementing my gothness in a wonderfully cliche manner?

Just got back from Wellington and I lack the awesome to actually say anything of use about it. Except in very short and simple format:

Amanda Palmer concert on Friday night = MADE OF FUZZY WARM LOVE
(Even if there were some dickheads in the audience and she was tired it was still amazing, just as Amanda always is at her shows.)

Neil Gaiman talk and signing on Saturday = MADE OF FANGIRLISH GLEE AND HAPPY
(He is a god among not gods and I haven't been so excited about seeing/meeting someone for a very long time. And despite the book signing being almost four hours long he was utterly gracious and smiling the whole time.)

This sound installation at the City Gallery Wellington = MADE OF INCREDIBLE.
(In fact, if you reside in Wellington go to the gallery and check it out.)

(Delicious, delicious New Orleans food and the mood there is just so warm.)

And now there is home and my own bed. Oh! Bliss!
This weekend I'm going to get to see Neil Gaiman. It's only started really kicking in in the last day or so and now I'm sort of like !!! about it. NEIL. MEETING NEIL. I think I might faint, you guys. He's so !!!

I'll also be seeing Amanda Palmer on the same weekend and then again the next weekend. I feel so shiny and awesome. And tonight we're finishing Battlestar and that is pretty damn shiny as well.

Life is sweet. I'm kind of thrilled to be a part of it right at this moment.
This is so lovely.

Neil Gaiman + Amanda Palmer + Bill Nighy = THINGS I WANT TO HUG.

In other news, it is WAY too hot today :/
This Emilie Autumn interview is half an hour long, but it's amazing. (Probably because she is amazing.) I honestly adore her so much.

Please come to New Zealand Australia! (Hey, I've got to be at least a little realistic, right?)

She and Amanda Palmer really need to do something - anything! - together because it would be epic and they could do their whole Fuck You to the record companies together :)
The flat is currently caring for a toddler overnight and I have discovered that of all the talking I do at him (definatly 'at' because he's too little to converse) his favourite word above all others is 'necromancy.' Necromancy makes him giggle and clap his hands.

I have high hopes for this child.

But because there is a limit to how many times I can fall on the floor when he pretends to kill me (CHILDREN ARE EXHAUSTING) I am hiding in my room with tea and gorgeous female singers. Sadly, those are only in picture form.

With the gorgeous of Emilie Autumn, Amanda Palmer, Christina Scabbia and Simone Simons )
For the Amanda Palmer show in Wellginton we didn't get the Danger Ensemble as everyone else in the world did, as they stayed in Australia - but we did get a very awesome opening act called Battle Circus, a rock band from Auckland. Or, as their website says, Well, it's not quite rock, maybe metal/circus/baroque-esque psychedelic rock with Eastern-European influences.

I inbed videos now!

Three videoclips )

They were freaking sweet live. I'm not used to anything like this coming out of New Zealand. I stole a copy of their EP - The Half-Light Symphony - from Alina, and it is epic and post-apocalyptic and and the shortest song is nine minutes long.
Accommodation for Wellington is now booked and I am getting pretty damn excited about the fact that in a week I shall be on my way out to see Amanda Palmer playing. GLEE. Two other people from my extended social circle and going to be there as well, and who knows if there might be others? I think there might be a nice amount of post-AFP drinking going on. Which reminds me that I need to have another look at what bars in Wellington are good, as well as finding shops that might sell awesome gothy shoes and corsets. Alison needs a corset and Wellington must provide.

I have an idea for my Perversion Party outfit but I will require an underbust for it. Laura, you said you had one that might possibly fit me? I shall have to come around at some point before Wednesday and try it out. (This will require remembering how the hell to get to your house.)

Our broadband has gone over = :(
First Party last night was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed myself :D Hope some of the newbies stick around as all of the ones I spoke too seemed pretty cool and I therefore approve. And, as you know, my approval is all important to people ;)

Today my neck is killing me from all the headbanging, but hey that's the feeling of a party well done I think. And right now it's raining and lovely and Alison and I have characters to torture for Darker London. AND I'm going to get a cup of tea so don't even try to tell me today isn't FABULOUS.

First, though, I must reply to emails that have been sitting around in my inbox...

(holy crap, Amanda Palmer in, like, ten sleeps. SO. FRAKKING. EXCITED.)
Currently pinned to my notice board are three tickets for the Amanda Palmer show in Wellington on the 12th March. 'Excited' doesn't even cover it, baby. I can't freaking wait.

Alina, Alison and I have a day in hand as well which means we can go see the giant squid at Te Papa. It's going to be awesome fishy goodness.
I am exhausted, sun-boiled, sore, and a little bit alcohol-effected.

Thus ends another glorious Canterbury Faire. I'll write another post about it later (with photos of the geekary) but for now we're going to watch Princess Bride as Peter has never seen it.

But, as for a challenge spoken about at CF. After talking about the Brazilian Smurf porn (No, I'm not linking. Go google it for the childhood destroying hilarity) we wondered what other beloved kids cartoons we loved would be awesomely smutty. Some quick googling brings up Captain Planet bestiality porn (drawing). I'm sure there's more but I can't be bothered finding it. No one needs to know this stuff exists anyway.

AFP is doing the show in Wellington that we hoped she would on 12th March. This makes me gleefully happy as Wellington is much closer and better than Auckland.
honeyspider: (|| DD: Just say we were lovers)
This flat has become disturbingly obsessed with Twilight. They say it's just for the lulz but I'm not sure I can trust them. Every time I enter a room they appear to be talking about Edward's Dazzle. Oh dear lord! Even in my own home I'm not safe from such a monstrosity!

One of the lesbians is showering, but I'm not sure which one, and then after that we have to go grocery shopping :(

Okay, since everyone else recently has been posting Amanda Palmer videos on my flist I want to play that game as well.
